THE CHALLENGE.
Improving Ergonomics with Virtual Reality
The project faced the challenge of improving the ergonomics of the product, a commercial vehicle widely used in a variety of industries. The main challenge was to evaluate and optimize reachability, visibility, and other ergonomic aspects of the vehicle, ensuring a comfortable and safe driving experience for operators.
THE SOLUTION.
Virtual Prototyping and Ergonomic Testing.
To address this challenge, the team developed an innovative application based on Virtual Reality (VR) technology. This application allowed designers to create virtual prototypes of the vehicle and conduct detailed ergonomic tests in a virtual environment. Using the application, designers were able to simulate real-world conditions of vehicle use, assessing the location and accessibility of key components such as the dashboard, vehicle controls, and on-board instruments. Through the use of VR input devices, operators were able to interact with the virtual vehicle and provide immediate feedback on comfort and usability.
